I know Valentine's Day has passed but it's always held a special place in my heart! My husband and I celebrate it every year with a simple but romantic date night. We were high school sweethearts and even though we have grown up a little, we still love the cheesy, gushy traditions of spending a night celebrating some romance. 😉
I know Covid restrictions have changed a few things so I thought I would share some simple but romantic date night ideas from the comfort of your own home!
Game Night
My husband and I love a good board game. But instead of playing the same old Scrabble or Uno, pick out a new game together! A new favorite of ours is Ticket to Ride. It will take you on a cross country journey without you ever having to leave your home! Add your favorite snack or treat and you're in for a simple and fun night together after the kids go to sleep.
Wine and Dine
Food is a big part of our relationship. We love trying new restaurants! Obviously this is a little trickier with dine in restrictions now-a-days.
Find a new recipe on Pinterest! Do grocery pick-up and add something new to the list or try out a new grocery store! Enjoy cooking together and pairing new foods with your favorite (adult) beverage.
Sign up for a virtual cooking class! Different restaurants have these set up where you can go pick up all the ingredients and then spend an evening at home cooking together. If your local area does not have this option, Airbnb offers Online Cooking Classes!
Movie Night
One of our first Valentine's dates was to go see a cheesy movie. I think it was "Valentine's Day" with Taylor Swift and a bunch of other famous people. We love to snuggle up on the couch and have our favorite snacks or GrubHub some ice cream to our house while we laugh and joke about the cheesy scenes. It's a lighthearted night that reminds us to just slow down and remember what true love is all about...cheesy, right? 😉
However you choose to spend your next date night, remember to make it fun and enjoyable for both of you! Take turns picking what to do and think outside of the box a little bit. Get dressed up or stay comfy in sweats...but just remember to take some time to show your partner how much you love them. Let us know your ideas for a date night in the comments below! ❤️

I’ll be honest, I was expecting this list to include some of the activities we love to do, but I’m thrilled to be doing them all! Thanks for the great suggestions!
